WHITE ROCK—Annie Mae Weed Meetze, widow of Vern S. Meetze, died Friday, October 7, 2016.Born December 24, 1915 in Irmo, SC to Marvin P. and Annie L. Younginer Weed.She was a charter member of Virginia Wingard United Methodist Church, a lifetime member of Ladies Auxiliary of VFW #641, a member of Crafts N’ Things and Senior Citizen Group 50 and Over at Salem United Methodist Church.Mae loved flowers, traveling, and playing games such as Bingo, Uno, Mexican Train and Rummy Q.For the past seven years she was a resident of the Heritage at Lowman in White Rock, SC. Surviving are one son, Marion L. Meetze (Faye) of Chapin, daughter-in-law, Betty S. Meetze; three grandchildren, Donna Faircloth (Ronnie), Michael Meetze (Nancy) and Joye Davidson (Kerry); seven great-grandchildren; eleven great-great-grandchildren; and special nieces, Marlene Gantt and Sophia Vernau. In addition to her husband and parents she was predeceased by a son, James H. Meetze, sisters, Ernestine Derrick and Naomi Ellisor and brother, James Monroe Weed. Funeral services will be held for Mae Meetze, 100, of White Rock at 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at Temples Halloran Funeral Home Chapel, 5400 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC 29212.The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.Graveside service will be private.
