COLUMBIA—A memorial service for Margaret Anne Greene, 75, of Columbia, will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at Temples Halloran Funeral Home Chapel, 5400 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC 29212 with Pastor Mark Bredholt officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. Born in Bamberg, SC, Anne was the daughter of the late Aaron Calhoun Blume and Dorothy Margaret Jolly Blume Coyle and the step-daughter of the late James Coyle.Soon after graduating from North Augusta High School, she proudly served her country in the United States Marine Corp. While in San Diego, she married John Greene (US Navy) in 1962. Honorably discharged from the Marine Corps, she had two children.She was a working mother while her husband served his country stationed in New London, CT; Charleston, SC; Key West, FL; Norfolk and Virginia Beach, VA.When John retired from the Navy, Anne and her family returned to Columbia.She continued her working life as the Clerk-Treasurer of the town of Irmo before starting her own business, the Anne Greene Agency: Diversified Trucking Services, Inc. She ran the company throughout the 1980s, certified by a number of states on the East Coast, training long haul truckers in the proper legal and safety regulations of moving hazardous waste. When not working, Anne enjoyed shag dancing, boiled peanuts, and a cold beer. As a dedicated daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother, Anne is survived by her husband of 53 years, John David Greene (currently residing at Lexington Extended Care); sons, Ronald Walter Greene and his wife, Zornitsa Keremidchieva of Minneapolis, MN, and John Edward Greene of Columbia; grandchildren, Ashlie Michelle Greene, John Thomas Greene, Svetlana Margaret Greene and John Dimo Willis Greene; her aunt, Elizabeth (Libby) J. Phillpott and sister-in-law, Linda Blume. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Aaron C. Blume, Jr. and Willis Leon Blume.
