Irmo – Angelos Angelakis passed away on Friday, April 21, 2017.He was the son of the late George Angelakis and Georgia Zografidis Angelakis.He was born in Eleftheroupoli, Greece.He moved to the United States from Greece in 1966.He went back to Greece in 1970 to get the love of his life Toula to marry her and bring her back to the United States to begin their life together.Angelos worked for the New Jersey Transit System as a bus driver for 37 years. He and Toula moved to Irmo in 2007 to be closer to his daughter and son-in-law but especially his grandchildren.He was a member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral. Surviving are his wife, Panagiota (Toula) Angelakis of 47 years of Irmo,daughter, Georgia Glekas (Jim) of Irmo, granddaughters, Markella, Angela, and Toula, sisters, Maria Albanis of Greece, and Olga Gacos of Brick, New Jersey. The family will receive friends at Temples Halloran Funeral Home on Monday, April 24, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. with Trisagion Prayers recited at 10:00 a.m.The funeral service will be conducted by The Reverend Father Michael Platanis at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home with interment at Bush River Memorial Gardens.
