Ada Riddle Magaro

COLUMBIA—Ada was the daughter of the late Marie and Dewey Wright of Greenville, SC. She was married to James H Riddle from August, 1949 until his death March, 1980. They moved to Columbia SC in 1965. They have two daughters, Jan Riddle McCarty (Fred) of Lawrenceville, GA and Susan Riddle Ansley (Sam) of Colleyville, TX. She has 3 grandchildren, Jim McCarty of Prescott Valley, AZ, Samantha Ansley of Dallas, TX & Sarah Ansley of Scottsdale, AZ. She married Ernie Magaro in September, 1992 and gained 3 step-children, Ernie Magaro (Donna) of Columbia, SC, PJ Hilbert (Gary) of Basking Ridge, NJ & the late Chris Magaro. She has 4 step-grandchildren, Mark Magaro of Atlanta, GA, Abby Magaro of Orlando, FL, Megan Hilbert of New York, NY and Kristen Hilbert of Hoboken, NJ. Ada was not only dearly loved but was a loving mother and wife as well. She deeply loved Ashland Church from it’s beginnings in March, 1977 where she was a charter member and served on the finance committee. She was truly an artist when it came to sewing and gardening for which she was on the garden tour. She had a full life with her career as manager of SC Telco Credit Union for many years and later with her love of ballroom dancing including competition dancing! She not only loved her kitties but her volunteer time with Town Theatre. Her creative talents extended into staging model homes for her builder husband, Ernie. Ada’s passing has left a hole in all of our hearts but our memories will be forever cherished. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, Thursday, January 11, 2018 at 1 p.m. which will be held in fellowship hall at Ashland United Methodist Church, 2600 Ashland Road, Columbia, SC 29210. Thefuneral service will be conducted by Reverend Tresco E. Shannon at 2 p.m. in the church sanctuary. Burial will follow in Bush River Memorial Gardens, 5400 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC 29212.
